Absolutely not a reference manual, more a course book.
Hope you've got good eyes because the screenprints (of which there are hundreds) are difficult to see clearly. -
You can tell a book by its cover.

This is a book that does exactly what it would lead you to believe on the cover.
It starts you off at the very basics of Oracle Application Express (APEX), and leads you through the steps of building an application. Simple, but with slowly increasing complexity, explaining generally why decisions are made.
It'll take you from knowing nothing, to being able to make reasonable applications (as long as you understand the very basics of database design) in the course of a few days.
This isn't a reference book, so don't buy it with the hope that it will be, but if you're looking to learn to build applications (and perhaps do a little basic administration of APEX), I wholeheartedly recommend this volume.
