This book introduces you to science of developing software. If you know nothing about the Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition and programming in general, like me, then this book is what you need. It helps you to get familiar with the software, contains instructions for few simple project and it also tells you about alternative sources of information were you can learn C#.
Of course there is so much information online available today to help learners, but if you just starting then this book will help you to move in a right directing. Good luck! -
Very limited

Like the previous reviewer; I completely agree. I also got the Visual Basic and Visual C++ versions of this book. They're essentially the same but using the different programming language. They're nothing more than a showcase for the software with very little substance and they're far to brief to learning anything else. Do yourself a favour - download the software and make sure you download the MSDN library too as this has training modules in it. Don't bother with these books. -

Microsoft® Visual C#® 2008 Express Edition: Build a Program Now! (PRO-Developer)
Very poor avoid the frustration of this book. Poorly written and disjointed you will learn more and quicker watching the video tutorials on the web. This person could not teach someone to open a barn door.I bought it and put it in the bin.
