Reviews for Computer Systems Architecture: A Networking Approach

  1. Great for the beginner - and beyond

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, January 12th, 2003

This is a fantsatic book for the beginner into Computer Systems Architecture. I'm currently doing a Software Engineering Masters and this book was invaluable in completing the module.
It's well written and fully comprehensive in its detail. It suites those who wish to just have an overview of the subject and also those who want in depth detail.
    Brilliant!
  2. A must have for Computer Science BSc yr 1

    Rated 4 out of 5 stars, November 12th, 2001

As i am currently being taught by Rob Williams himself i feel im in a good position to recommend this book. Contains all the theory you'll need for yr 1 Computer Science BSc and more. Comes with evaluation version of visual C++ which is reasonably useful.
  3. The bible of the 'Real-Time Systems' Degree!!

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, September 12th, 2001

Finally found a book thats not redundant at the end of the year! I have yet to find a module that this book doesn't have something somewhere thats of use! Be you 'Techy' or 'Dummy' you will understand this book, and be neither confused, nor patronised - how many books can you say that for? Definately worth your money!
  4. Missed A Lecture?

    Rated 3 out of 5 stars, May 12th, 2001

If you are on the Module that the author teaches at UWE's csm department, then buy this book... this book is indentical. The chapter numbers realtes (nearly) to the week numbers in the order he teaches. Although not a replacement for the lectures it is the definitive and only revision guide you should need for UQC104s1. The included CD-ROM which has a version of Microsoft's C++ studio, is also a god send for the two assignments...
  5. This is the book to get!!

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, March 12rd, 2001

Out of all the books I have on my shelf - this has to be one of the most useful. This book reflects the fact that the author has a great understanding in the field of computing. He has managed to impart this knowledge in a logical and easy to understand way, which I have found very useful during my studies.
