Reviews for CSS Mastery: Advanced Web Standards Solutions 2nd Edition

  1. A good book if you know basic CSS!

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, February 12th, 2010

I like this book because it explains exactly the things I always wondered how to manage them like round corners, shadows, and much more other more advanced CSS styling!

A recommandations for everybody who would like to improve their CSS skills!

  2. Almost 5 stars but not quite

    Rated 4 out of 5 stars, March 12st, 2009

Of all the CSS books I've bought and burnt the midnight oil with [so far] this is without doubt the best. It does not mess about. It tells you how to do it, why to do it and then does it with a short simple example. Bit by bit these small nibbles of concentrated information forms bites, then gradually, almost without you noticing, the CSS concept comes into focus.

This book is simple and straight forward. You will learn easily and without cranial auto-depilatory concerns. I recommend it highly. Why not 5 stars? It's a little short and needs more depth for true Nirvana. However, it comes real close. Want the whole 9-yards? Then get this to start with and then CSS - The missing Manual.
  3. Very useful, had lot's of tips and tricks that just did the job

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, March 12th, 2009

This book about css is absolutely one of the best, basically because it handles issues that you just have to solve through experience, and the writer has that and gives it to the reader in a brilliant way. Very useful book.
  4. One of the most helpful books ever

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, November 12st, 2008

I was given this book as a gift 2 years ago as a Christmas gift. This book along with "Dom Scripting" by Jeremy Keith are my two most used books relating to webdesign. I have just come across this book again in Amazon and felt the need to write this review.
You will have needed to know the basics of CSS before using this book, but upon finishing this book you will know most of what needs to be known about how to use CSS in the best possible way.
    Buy it now! 10 stars
  5. Left me wanting more - but in a good way.

    Rated 4 out of 5 stars, May 12th, 2008

Great book and does pretty much what it says in the title. I bought this book hoping for some real world examples of how to use CSS to develop sites that work across browsers and to improve my techniques. I wasn't disappointed - I read this cover to cover in only a few sittings and it's been an invaluable reference since.

I would have loved more examples and ideas to develop, but not to the extent that I felt the book was poor value. I can see me referring to this book repeatedly in the future.
