Reviews for DB2 Universal Database in the Solaris Environment (DB2 Enrichment)

  1. An Oasis in a desert of quality DB2 Solaris Publications

    Rated 4 out of 5 stars, August 12th, 2001

In a veritable desert of good quality technical DB2 Solaris specific publications this book stands out.

The authors have managed to create a technicaly advanced publication in an easy to read style. Whilst aimed mainly at the Database Administrator role it also contains some information which could be useful for Unix Systems Adminitrators supporting DB2 servers. This book is not recommended for developers or casual users whishing to learn about DB2

The information is well delivered and easy to follow via logical progression through the chapters. Good diagramatical information further aids reading and gives clarity for complex topics.

Particularly useful topics include HA Failover deffinitions. These are poorly laid out in IBM standard documentation.
