Excellent BI Book
Rated out of 5 stars, February 12th, 2010
I don't often review books but this book is by far the best business intelligence resource that I have purchased so far. It covers the full cycle of a BI project from design to delivery, I found it relatively easy to understand (The topic itself has its own challenges!) and the examples are useful, I did find one or two typo errors relating to the examples but I still managed to get them to work.
There is a good chapter on "Change Data Capture" which is not often covered in other BI offerings.
I would recommend this book to others.

Great step-by-step business intelligence resource
Rated out of 5 stars, July 12th, 2009
If you already know the theory behind business intelligence but you lack the practice, this book is for you. You will need just this book and a box with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Enterprise edition to create your BI application. What I like the most about this book is the step-by-step approach. Each part of the Business Intelligence Studio is covered in detail, so you get familiar with the GUI and you won't get lost in the instructions, as each step is illustrated with a screenshot. Although I've read only first 200 pages yet, I'm already satisfied with my purchase. -

Gives you a overall view of what SQL Server BI can do for you pretty fast. The lessons are clear and comprehensive and of good quality.
