Reviews for DHTML and JavaScript

  1. Not for the faint hearted!

    Rated 2 out of 5 stars, November 12th, 2000

This book is not for the faint hearted! If you are a new comer to DHTML & JavaScript this may not be the book for you. Although this book contains detailed information, I found it not at all comprehensive for a beginner and at times very confusing. This book may be great if you are an intermediate/advanced user requiring a reference manual. But if you are thinking of buying this book for sole purpose of learning 'from scratch' - Stay well clear!
  2. Good Book but leans heavily toward Netscape 4+ browsers

    Rated 4 out of 5 stars, February 12st, 2000

I bought this book thinking i would get a comprehensive manual On DHTML for cross browser compatibility. What i actually got was a very in depth book on DHTML for Netscape browsers. If you want to design dynamic pages for Netscape browsers then i thoroughly recommend this book. If like the majority of Net users you want to design pages for IE also, then stay away fom this book. Still, i've given this book a high rating because of its layout and content is superb, i'm just gutted that it doesn't refer to IE also!
