Reviews for Fundamentals of Computer Architecture

  1. Decent Introduction to Computing

    Rated 4 out of 5 stars, January 12th, 2009

This book is useful if you want to learn the basics of computing or you are studying in the first year of a Computing degree, which has a module named something like 'Computer Systems'. It covers the basics of computing, binary/Octal/Hex arithmetic, basic electronics, Interrupt mechanisms and lots more. It includes a disk that has tools, which allow you to model the CPU and electronic behaviour of circuits. It should provide clarification for anything you miss or don't understand in class. The only aspect that was not pleasing was that the circuit modelling tool from the disk is only a trial and expires after several weeks.
