1. A good introductory text for the begginer

   I bought this book as it was required for my course at University. It proved invaluble then, as it does now in a corporate environment. Examples given are clear and accurate, with descriptions that allow you to go off and do stuff on your own - such is the nature of UNIX.

2. As said, a student's guide

   For a Windows 95 user like myself, Unix looked liked a dark and mysterious night, unpenetrable and unfathomable. This book came like a guiding light and saw me through.

3. Very nice book

   This is the Unix book I most commonly recommend to my students.
