Reviews for Inside SQL Server 7.0 (Mps)

  1. Outstanding

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, December 12th, 2000

Not a book for beginnners, but if you already have some experience with SQL Server, this will really put some meat on the bones. Lots of info about what's happening behind the scenes, and why - topics that are often skipped in other titles. I read this after the SQL 6.5 version, and although there was significant overlap, there was still plenty of new stuff to keep me interested.
  2. Must Buy for experts

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, December 12th, 2000

If you've always wondered what all those extra tables and mysterious system databases are in SQL Server, then read this book. It gives clear answers to the most complex of questions and really delves deep to explain everything you always wanted to know about SQL Server, but couldn't find any one to ask. Excellent and a must buy!, 110% required reading.

A good all round book covering most of SQL and it's architecture. Not to much on the t-sql side and not to much on the tools sql provides (dts been one of them). Would recommend this book to anyone wanting a good understanding of the sql inner workings...
  4. Great Book! You MUST have it.

Kalen Delaney has done a great job! Every time I needed something I have found it in this book. Great book if you need to know about SQL Server in depth.
  5. MS books are pretty crap- but this one is superb

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, June 12nd, 2000

If you know a bit about relational databases you will find this book very good. I have found all aspects interesting and well written (apart from the history which went on a bit). It's a good reference book. I also really like the SQL 7 product the best MS srv product yet.
