I'm new to iPhone development and found this book to be a fantastic resource
which is perpetually open on my desk.
It is a great tour of all the frameworks available and there are many
sample projects (available for download) that cover the basics of pretty
much everything I've needed so far.
No book can cover every aspect of a topic like this or it would be 5
times bigger, but it does furnish you with enough information to know
what to look for in the Apple documentation which is comprehensive
but terse.
Highly recommended as an accompaniment to a good basic book on Objective C
(like "Programming in Objective-C 2.0" by Kochan) -
Great Book

I purchased this book along with Programming in Objective-C 2.0 by Stephen G. Kochan, as a new iPhone developer I can honestly say this is one of the best books on the subject. I would suggest reading the Kochan book first to get a solid grounding on objective-c, and then read this book right after. -
A top iPhone Development resource

I am new to iPhone SDK development and this book (along with a few others) has help me understand some of the new concepts that I was finding problematical. I have been lucky to have been on the beta program of this book and have seen the revisions and hard work being put in by the authors. Concepts are clearly explained and good samples are supplied.
One of the top iPhone Development books, IMHO!
