This seems a very good book. I,m not sure it is for me as a complete novice.
  2. Good book to reference to

    Rated 4 out of 5 stars, February 12st, 2009

One of those books every java programmer will need on their desk at some point.
  3. A good reference book

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, July 12th, 2006

David Flanagan did a good job keeping it simple. This book is very good for begginers, it lays down the major concepts needed to Java programming.
It is not very thorough and it will not make you an expert, but is definitely a good book to have beside you when developing an application in Java, which is the purpose of the book.
  4. Okay but dates quickly

    Rated 3 out of 5 stars, March 12st, 2006

A great bible for reference purposes but it dates very quickly and online references are far better
