Reviews for jQuery in Action

  1. Too much hype and bad grammar

    Rated 3 out of 5 stars, April 12th, 2010

Whilst this book contains a lot of useful information and overall serves its purpose I found it verbose and too padded with repetitive hype about how great JQuery is. Grammatically I also felt the book fell somewhat short of the mark.
  2. Grows on you

    Rated 4 out of 5 stars, April 12st, 2010

I'm a novice when it comes to Javascript and knew nothing about jQuery except that I had read glowing recommendations which prompted my curiosity.

I didn't particularly like this book when I first skimmed through it because the page layout isn't very attractive. But when I started to read it properly and do the Lab exercises I found it was an effective way of learning about and understanding jQuery.

  3. A must have

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, March 12th, 2010

A great book to learn JQuery and if you don't want to waste our googling and browsing internet to find JQuery tutorials ...
  4. Highly informative and entertainingly written

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, October 12th, 2009

Very thorough and readable stuff, written by real experts. If you've not come across jQuery yet, you'll be amazed at what you'll be doing in a very short time.
  5. Quality jQuery title

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, September 12th, 2009

This book is rocks and so does jQuery. Suitable for beginners and advanced developers.

As a freelance Interface Developer I have found this book so valuable. Has been taken to every contract with me since I bought it.

Might have to hook myself up the second addition.
