Reviews for Linux in Small Business: A Practical User's Guide (Expert's Voice)

  1. Pratical! Pratically painful...

    Rated 1 out of 5 stars, February 12th, 2004

This book does not deliver. All of the topics covered are very brief, lacking in detail and depth. Throughout the book, it is assumed that there will no problems with the information given. Absolutely no account is given in respect to when an example in the book simply does not work. This is mainly due to syntax errors and parameters being missed out completely! The want and need to send and rec email using sendmail in linux would be a must for any user and one of the reasons for buying this book. One page only is set aside to cover this! It is explained that sendmail is a complicated subject and that a pre-configured file can be downloaded from their website, what is complicated is where the download is on the site, if it does indeed exist at all! Generally a very poor book, you will be wise to invest your money elswhere.
