Reviews for Merb Way (Addison-Wesley Professional Ruby)

  1. Lots of detail, clearly written and describes differences to RoR

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, August 12th, 2009

This book does a great job of describing not only the techniques and workings of Merb but also the reasoning behind many of it's differences. It also delves into DataMapper and other extra bits.
As someone who is new to both Merb and RoR I found the writing style helpful for learning features and also interesting where it delves into additional detail. In each topic the author eases us from light overview to geeky behind-the-scenes detail.
I would presume the intended audience is developers who are already somewhat familiar with Ruby and Rails. For this reason I did find some examples tricky to follow but that is probably more due to my lack of Ruby experience.
