1. Very Good Book for Starters

   As always, this dummies book gave me the info I needed quickly and without a lot of heavy reading to get this database up and running. Didn't read it cover to cover just the bits that I knew I needed to look at, still sits at the side of my desk as my reference.

2. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition for Dummies

   This is the first 'For Dummies' book I have read, and I found it frankly poor quality. The writing style is acceptable, but it is tediously repetitious. I lost count of the number of times it told me that MS SQL server express can be downloaded free from the MS website, (dozens of times). It is anyway included on the CD, which accompanies the book. The book also spends ages labouring the obvious points, while glossing over the difficult ones. I did learn a little from the book though so it has some value and at least it wasn't too expensive.
