Useful for Java developers, this book starts by showing how to install and use Tomcat as a web server and NetBeans as an IDE. It teaches how and when to use JavaServer Pages and Java servlets to build well-structured web applications that implement the MVC pattern. It also shows how to use sessions, cookies, JavaBeans, and custom tags.

Murachs Java Servlete and JSP - Easy to learn
Rated out of 5 stars, August 12th, 2009
This, like all other books I have purchased from this publisher, is excellent value for money. It teaches in a byte size chunk which makes learning easy. I wish all publishers of technical books would follow this approach. This book should be on the shelf of anybody learning Java Servlets and JSP from scratch. The only one provisory is that unless you are familiar with programming in Java, you will need to read Java SE6 from the same publisher first, as this book does not cover basic java programming.
