Must have book!
Rated out of 5 stars, July 12th, 2009
This is definately one of those must have book for any designer/developer embarking on a Oracle SOA suite project. It covers all the different areas of the Suite, including BPEL, Oracle Service Bus (AquaLogic), BAM, Rules Engine and OWSM.
Majority if not all the chapters give a good introduction followed by a deep dive into the topics. The examples in this book are very clear and easy to follow. One example I used recently on a project was on Fault Policies, the book describes how to design and deploy fault policies in a very easy to understand and clear manner. This is the same pattern for most of the topics covered.
There is not a single SOA project I have worked on over the last few years where this book would of have not been an excellent source for the team from designing the SOA applications to the implementation phase.
The book provides great tips and notes on best practices, including advantages and disadvantages of using one method over another.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone from a beginner to an advanced SOA Suite developer building production ready SOA applications.
The authors no doubt have hands on experience of using SOA Suite in industry and this is clearly evident in the book.
You will not be disappointed!
