Reviews for PHP Essentials

  1. An insult

    Rated 1 out of 5 stars, May 12th, 2007

This travesty of a book is made all the more useless by the widespread availability of good documentation on the internet. Melonie insults the reader by copying and pasting an entire chapter THREE TIMES, then altering a few words to say 'mSQL' instead of 'MySQL' etc. When I emailed her about this, she was arrogant and said that she didn't care, and I could take the book back to where I bought it- I think that sums up her attitude to her readers!

Her writing style is vague and childish. It seemed like she thinks that if she mentions coffee, that makes her an elite computer hacker, even if the rest of the text is rubbish.

There is absolutely no point in buying this book.
