Great Design Framework Example
Rated out of 5 stars, June 12th, 2007
The book not only walks you through creating a complete E-commerce site but it does it using a great n-tier design framework that can be used across a host of different applications. The book also covers UML, Use Cases, Class Diagrams in designing the site as well sections on justifying why the author has decided to code in a certain way, this is very helpful as you understand why its important to code in the manner he shows as opposed to learning parrot fashion.
This is one of the few books that I have gone back to many times and helped me architecture applications and websites in a much more maintainable and extensible way.
Read ASP.NET 2.0 Website Programming: Problem, Design, Solution (Programmer to Programmer) (Paperback)

Superb tuition
Rated out of 5 stars, May 12th, 2007
I found this book extremely helpful because it walked me though the process of using the latest technologies to build an ecommerce site. It is best to type the code in and create the code base as this will teach you the most. Downloading the source and then working backwards is not the best route.
I did hit a snag that was the Microsoft application blocks were re-released in April 2007. I wrote to the author asking him if he knew how to port in it's replacement. He responded immediately and was very helpful in letting me use his new library.
This book is recommended as it has taught me loads. -
Practical E-Commerce Web App Development Guide
Rated out of 5 stars, March 12st, 2007
This book offers a good reference implementation for a typical e-commerce web application containing good application architecture best practices and resulted in maintainable software. I found the chapters on payment processing quite handy. All-in-all a good practical guide for e-commerce web app programming.
