  2. High quality material from WebLogic specialists

    Rated 4 out of 5 stars, November 12th, 2009

I recently reviewed this book on my blog, from the perspective of an Oracle Fusion Middleware administrator.

It is certainly substantial book which covers the more advanced aspects of WebLogic. In some respects though this too is its downfall - from an administration perspective there's probably too much development detail, and for a developer, probably too much on administration. My other main observation is that this book covers WebLogic from a BEA view of the world - don't expect much discussion about integration with other products in Oracle's Fusion Middleware stack (such as Identity Management, etc).

That said, this book contains plenty of high quality material from a very well respected team of WebLogic specialists. It is the best book about WebLogic at the moment outside of the official documentation.
