Reviews for Professional SQL Server 2005 Administration (Wrox Professional Guides)

  1. SQL Server 2005

    Rated 2 out of 5 stars, August 12th, 2009

Very complicated and not written in a friendly way. Highly unaccessible - maybe useful for SQL Phd students. Haven't looked at it again since first glance.
  2. "This book covers all aspects of the product"

    Rated 4 out of 5 stars, January 12nd, 2007

This is a multi-author effort and as I've experienced in some previous wrox books there's a slightly bumpy ride because of this, however it doesn't get in the way too much and proves an excellent quick reference guide and would be useful to DBA's of all levels. This book covers all aspects of the product from installation to security to backup/recovery in a good level of detail.. ..in addition it includes good overviews of new features such as the service broker and endpoints. The book includes a few good chapters on monitoring and tuning and for some this would be reason alone to buy the book...
