Good introduction to real time software development
Rated out of 5 stars, February 12th, 2008
This book is a good introduction to the subject of real time UML software development. It starts from basic UML notation and takes you through all the steps of object oriented analysis and design (requirements, analysis, design, architecture), illustrating all the main points by examples. One of the key features of this book is that it will give you an idea of what can be done/achieved in terms of software modelling, design and simulation, by using development tools such as Rhapsody, which the author has used for all the examples. As a newcomer to the area of object-oriented programming and a real time software developer myself, I found that particularly attractive. However, you won't find any theoretical definitions in this book (refer to Grady Booch's OOAD with Applications if you are looking for the foundations of object oriented software development). It deserves 4 stars.
