Reviews for Sams Teach Yourself Ajax, JavaScript, and PHP All in One

  1. Definitely for beginners

    Rated 4 out of 5 stars, February 12nd, 2010

I bought this book because I want to learn Ajax and PHP from scratch. I am reasonably familiar with JavaScript.

This book turns out to be definitely for beginners, and with plenty of duplicate codes everywhere.
  2. All I needed... but not much more.

    Rated 4 out of 5 stars, January 12th, 2010

The book didn't cover that much, but it did cover it in all the detail I needed. If you've done a bit of html before, this book is for you.

    Worth the money I'd say.
  3. Good introduction

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, November 12th, 2009

Clearly written and comprehensive introduction to the topics.
Many helpful and practical hints throughout.
Inclusion of CD software to run a server on own computer or ISP provided website is a plus for those applying their new skills.
  4. if you want to learn AJAX its a good book to start with

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, March 12th, 2009

This book covers basic javascript the Ajax both are fairly easy to follow. it helps if you have done some programing in an object Orientated language such as Delphi
PHP, like the other two parts is explained in simple termsand
it comes with Apache on a disk which means you can run a php page on your local computer (PHP needs a server ie Apache to run on and doesnt run on windows)it also comes with a jedit, use it dont be tempted to write PHP in a graphic programming tool such as Dreamweaver
