Reviews for Sams Teach Yourself Microsoft Expression Web 3 in 24 Hours (Sams Teach Yourself...in 24 Hours)

  1. It's like an entire college course in a book, Fantastic

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, April 12th, 2010

I would have never managed to master Expression Web3 if it were not for this book. It is presented in a very easy to understand format, and with the addition of the online, interactive content the whole experience was first class.
  2. Good book, shame about all the errors

    Rated 3 out of 5 stars, March 12th, 2010

This is a good book to start Expression Web 3 with but it contains a significant number of small errors which could well cause confusion to some beginners. Certainly, if you decide to buy the book go online to the publishers website and check the Errata page and go through the book making corrections before you start. There are a lot, so it will take a while. Also there are several additional errors not yet in the list, I'll post them up when I get the chance. If you have some experience with programming textbooks you should be able to muddle through OK. Despite this the overall content of the book is good. I'm glad I bought it.
  3. Great teach yourself book

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, February 12th, 2010

I was a bit worried about starting a project like writing my own website, never having written one before, despite the fact that I'm far from computer literate. This book gave me confidence and held me by the hand while it walked me through every process I'd ever need. Fantastic! Really well thought out and you're provided with a series of files which you download to help and work from at every stage of the process. The book is laid out in a series of 1 hour (or thereabouts) lessons which progress through the learning process, taking each stage slowly but surely and then allowing you to test your progress at the end of each stage if you wish. Although I haven't had the opportunity to test this yet, I'm sure that the book is laid out in such a way that it would also make an excellent reference manual.

I'd recommend this book to anybody who's thinking of taking their first steps towards writing their own website.
