1. Great bu not for XP

   This set of books are very good. But if you are running Windows XP Home edition they are next to useless. The software required by the book is simply not avaliable at all and never will be.
   A great Shame.

2. dont buy it!

   i have just begun learning ASPs and although this book is aimed at beginners it is brief and not explained very well! ive had to look for examples elsewhere - i regret buying it!

3. Good but....

   A good book for the begginer, but i felt it trailed too much off the subject of learning asp into the realms of setting up IIS or PWS from microsoft, its almost a 477 page advert for Microsoft! Even so, it does effectivly teach you web development with this new advanced web-programming tecknology. Great for people with knowlage of HTML who want to expand their knowlage of languages. Also included, Visual InterDev 6 how-to book and a 90 day trial of the software, dont install this unless you know absoloutly what you are doing, in my case it made my computer virtualy unusable for 2 weeks, using a massive 40% of my 800Mhz Athlon Processer.

4. Too simplistic, not enough detailed examples.

   does not show you much in the way of dynamic asp pages that use databases. now that I have started using asp at work, I dont think much of the book.

5. look no further, youve found the right choice

   i have only done the first 5 hours on the ASP book, allready i am reasonably up to speed with VBscript, i have set up my own PWS server and can connect to in remotely with frontpage or interdev. This book is excellent, amazing value for money.

   I highly recomend it for all budding ASP enthuisasts, a great place to start
