Reviews for The Option Advisor: Wealth-building Techniques Using Equity and Index Options (A Marketplace Book)

  1. misleading name

    Rated 1 out of 5 stars, December 12th, 2000

it is a misleading title. i thought it would explain strategies on option trading.

it is a nice book which explains all basics about when to buy stocks... options is a different kettle of fish and this book doesnt help you to understand when and how to use options.

perhaps george fontanills book is more appropriat for "techniques"for option trading.

  2. Sounds great but doesn't work

    Rated 1 out of 5 stars, June 12th, 1999

All sounds very professional but doesn't work. Follow the material and you will lose money! The proof is I signed up for his email alert services and after three months, I am down $15,000. Save your money. And if you need proof, email me at the address below and I'll send you my tracking sheet to prove my point.
  3. Excellent Book on Equity Option Trading

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, December 12th, 1998

I had read a lot of books on option trading. Most of them are very theoretical. This is a very practical book on equity option trading. It provided you serveral approaches to trade equity options. I believe if someone can be expert on one of those methods, the person would be very very rich. I tried their Option Advisor service as well. It is ok but not too great. They have some realtime option service which did a great job.
  4. A must read for anyone considering options trading

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, December 12th, 1998

I did not read this book for the sole purpose of trading options. I became interested in reading this book only after learning about Bernie Schaeffer and his impressive winning record on wall street and seeing him on CNBC.

This book will serve every stock and options trader well. However, this book is made complete by the chapters in the first section where he thoroughly explains contrarianism, expectational analysis, selecting the right stock, sentiment indicators, and market timing indicators. These chapters alone are pact with valuable information and have greatly improved my stock trading performace.

This book is suitable for the beginner and advanced trader. The easy-reading style together with the many useful subjects makes it easy to passover important points. Don't be fulled by the simplistic style. Considering the many topics, the author manages to thoroughly cover each without losing the reader.

Even with the many books that I have on trading and technical/trend analysis, this is the one that I reference the most.

  5. Very basic poor job for an options book

    Rated 1 out of 5 stars, November 12th, 1998

Bernie really let himself down with this book. Very poor job. Basic stuff. Shame he triesto build a name. I still remember him touting DOW 11,000 in cassettesthat disappeared when we went to 7,500. An opinion for every season.

Intended to sell his poor performing newsletters.
