Reviews for Thinking of... Buying a Cloud Solution? Ask the Smart Questions

  1. This book parts the clouds on an inevitable evolution of Information Services provision

    Rated 5 out of 5 stars, January 12th, 2010

I was asked to review this book prior to it being published and my review is included within the book itself. But in short I cannot recommend it highly enough. My review that is in the book is below. In addition I would add that today as we see an acceleration of software and infrastructure as a service the market will be come obscured for the person trying to buy these services as increasingly the marketing machine is taking over. The book is increasingly relevant as it provides the check list anyone needs to make informed decisions and plans for adoption of this way of delivering the information services business and communities need.

Review in the book pageii - This book parts the clouds on an exciting and inevitable evolution of information services and the way we work and play. It reminds all of us that the devil is in the detail and that the benefits to be realised, which are many, are won through effective planning and preparation and the effective execution of the implementation plan. Above all it's practical, insightful and pragmatic. It will look strangely familiar to anyone experienced in managing change in systems and organisations. A valuable resource for all stakeholders as its cuts through the mystery and explains it in plain language.
