Not enough substance
Rated out of 5 stars, October 12th, 2008
I have read many programming books and many "for dummies" books and have always been impressed.
This one however was a let down.
It was far too basic and there was not enough substance at all.
A lot of the examples were repeated such that five pages could have been condensed into five lines which would leave space for some real substance.
I now need to buy another beginners VB.Net book as after reading this one I couldnt even call myself a beginner
Very disappointing -
Dummies come top!

You know what to expect with Dummies books: a basic but solid grounding to get you up and running quickly and simply. This edition is no different and as a complete beginner I felt a lot more comfortable with the subject after only a couple of days. The material is well presented and easy to read, though the lack of worked examples means a little more effort is required to really take on board the mass of information. This book is well worth it with the CD ROM and leaves you eager to explore the subject further – always the mark of a well written beginner’s book.
