How to actually use Vista
Rated out of 5 stars, October 12th, 2009
Microsoft's instruction booklet on Vista contains very scant information, and it is great to have available such a useful reference book for beginners like me who have no previous experience to call upon; not even with Windows XP. By referring to this book, I have found things that I can easily do with Vista that make using that operating system much less mystifying and frustrating. Now I have bought another copy for my daughter, who is also a rank beginner, like me. Andy Rathbone also adds a touch of humour, which is most welcome when your brain is beginning to boil, and you are wishing that Vista wouldn't try so hard to be all things to all people. -
Vista for my friends who are Dummies!!
Rated out of 5 stars, October 12th, 2009
I bought this book for one of my friends who, when it comes to using a computer isn't that shall we say comfortable.
We are all good at different things.
This book however has enabled him to turn on his laptop and one or two slightly more complicated functions like check his email and write an email, he did struggle to send an email but with the help of the book managed in the end.
I am sure that with the help of this book he will eventually manage to do everything he wants to do.
In the meanwhile I'm free to do what I want instead of helping him out all the time.
Thanks Vista for Dummies....I'm free!!! -

Wretched Vista
Rated out of 5 stars, September 12th, 2009
I don't think anyone can do much about this dreadful programme but at least the Dummies series has tried. Vista has just got to be about the worst thing Microsoft have ever dreamt up. -
Simple, easy to use Guide
Rated out of 5 stars, September 12st, 2009
Everything one needs to know in a well thought out book, not just for the people who are a tad shy of computer Operating Systems or have upgraded from XP. If you are offended by the 'Dummies' title then consider the book the ideal reference material. The series remains my favourite guide books.
