To the point!
Rated out of 5 stars, November 12th, 2007
I have tried learning XML from other books and they are made with so much "fluff" that it is hard to stay focused on the facts. This book has just enough talk to make it interesting but each paragraph is mostly for gaining knowledge instead of creating some sort of dialoge with the reader.
If you are having a tough time staying interested in learning XML this is definately refreshing. You can take most all of the examples in the book and apply them hands-on for quick feedback on what you have learned. Every part of this book is easy to understand and gives great reference once you are using XML and want to take a quick look back.
I would like exercise sections at the end of each chapter though but the book functions great, as intended. -
Excellent!

I cannot recommend this book enough if you are an XML beginner. I didn;t use it to learn the language, I bought a much larger more comprehensive book to teach me that. However, as a reference tool it is absolutely perfect, covering everything in enough detail to aid understanding but not in ecessive detail. As I said though i's buy another book to actually learn the full workings of XML. -
If you really want to know what XML can do - buy this book!

The real advantage with this book is that the author provides simple examples, and their results, of each aspect of XML. Unlike other, more lengthy books on this topic, this book brilliantly shows you how to get real results with XML.I work in a data processing environment, here in the Big Apple, and was recommended to this book by a friend in London..If you want to understand XML then you gotta get this book...

XML in easy steps
Rated out of 5 stars, June 12nd, 2002
There has been a lot of ballyhoo written about XML. This book explains what it really can do - and it's truly amazing|! XML is explained in terms that are not too technical so it can be understood by anyone. I recommend that if you want to learn about the red-hot XML technology you really should buy this book now! -
Good introduction to XML
Rated out of 5 stars, December 12st, 2001
This book starts out by explaining how XML is used to describe stored data then it goes on to give examples of how this information can be used in XSL transformations, or with style sheets, or with Java. I found it very good because it also tells you how to write DTD schemas and the latest method using the XMLSchema language. I would recommend it because it covers a lot of ground in a compact book.
